John Calvin "J.C." Fricks

Obituary Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2015

   Mr. John Calvin “ J.C.”  Fricks, age 89, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015.

            Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, September 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Gainesville. Interment will be at 2:00 pm Monday following the service at Tates Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Stephens County. Dr. Bill Coates and Reverend Danny Newbern will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the funeral home.
            J.C. was a Stephens County native, son of the late Garnett Fricks and Nolia Vandiver Fricks Clark. In 1948 J.C. married the love of his life, Dot Hill. Moving to Gainesville in 1955, J.C. excelled in many different business ventures such as Volkswagon and Dodge Dealerships, Poultry Transport, Big Dutchman Poultry Equipment, and Cyclone Southeast Poultry Equipment.  J.C. was an active businessman and very involved in his community. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville, He served as a Deacon and was also a longtime member of the Anglers Sunday School Class, where he was the song leader for over 40 years. J.C. loved golf and was known as a super putter. He will be remembered for his love of golf and his well manicured lawn.
            J.C. is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Fricks of Gainesville; daughter, Susan Fricks Butler of North Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Darrell Pittard of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Richard Hagmeyer of Naperville, IL; granddaughter and husband, Suzanne and Jason Wallace of Atlanta; granddaughter and husband, Stephanie and Scott Graham of Gainesville; granddaughters, Lindsey Hagmeyer and Christy Hagmeyer, both of Naperville, IL; great-grandchildren, Will and Ella Wallace of Atlanta; Evan and Hayden Graham of Gainesville. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Carney, brothers, Morris Fricks and Bruce Fricks.
            Flowers will be accepted or for those who wish, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Ministry of Caring and Sharing or the charity of your choice.
