Duane Edward Rice

Duane Edward Rice, age 46 of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2015 following an extended illness.

Born in Stephens County, Georgia on October 08, 1968, Duane was a life-long native of Habersham County. He was a son of Ray & Maxine Franklin Rice of Cornelia. Duane was employed as a sales clerk with Cleveland Winnelson Company with over 20 years of service. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where he served in numerous roles. Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling with his family, and most of all spending time with his niece & nephews.

In addition to his parents, survivors include brothers & sisters-in-law, David & Melanie Rice, Clarkesville; Donald & Melissa Rice, Cornelia; Daryl & Misty Rice, Demorest; niece, Haley Rice; nephews, Brandon Shook, Dylan, Connor, & Carter Rice; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, & many friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Chris York and Rev. Mike Irvin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. & 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday.
