Susie Lingerfelt

Susie Mae “Mammy” Lingerfelt, age 78, of Dawsonville, GA (Lumpkin County), passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at her home with her loving family at her bedside.

Susie was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and was of the Baptist faith. She retired from the Burlington Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega after 25 years of service.

She was the daughter of the late Jerry and Braskie Rider Lingerfelt and was also preceded in death by sisters, Cindy Rider and Thelma “Flower Pot” Stamey; and brother, Bill Lingerfelt.

Susie was a loving aunt and “Mother” to David and Yvonne Lingerfelt and kids, Tony and Rhonda Lingerfelt and kids, Janet and Freddie Chapman and Jeremy Lingerfelt, Billy and Angie Lingerfelt and kids, Lola Lingerfelt, Kathy Lingerfelt, Hope, Scott, Lexi, Kady Mae, and Sophie Rider, Sarah Davis,Noelle and Ron Simmons, and “her two pretty boys” Hunter and Jake Simmons.

She is also survived by brothers, Jewell Lingerfelt and Roy Lee Lingerfelt; and sister, Clora Miller.

Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Susie are scheduled for 4 PM Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Preacher Dalton Delozier will officiate.

In accordance with her wishes, Susie will be cremated following the service.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Sunday June 7, 2015 from 2 PM until 9 PM and all day on Monday until funeral time.
