Tom Oliver

Tom Oliver, age 79 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his residence.  

Born in Carnesville, GA on June 28, 1935, he was a son of the late Mr. Lee Oliver and Mrs. Arena Purcell Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a retired sales clerk and member of Demorest Baptist Church. He enjoyed his ducks and geese as well as volunteering for Meals on Wheels, attending the Senior Center, and visiting friends at Habersham Home.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his brothers, Durell Oliver, Lamar “Shorty” Oliver, and J. C. Oliver.   

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Pat & Dr. Joe Noggle of Mt. Airy; daughter, Louann Hendricks of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, David & Marilu Oliver of Suwanee; grandchildren, Dillard (Xan) Noggle, Loren (Lindsey) Noggle, Ashley (Kris) Kendrick, Corey Noggle, and Nick Hendricks; great grandchildren, Landon, Jack, & Mitchell Noggle; sisters, Geneva Kelly of Carnesville and Agatha Carey of Royston.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Demorest Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. All family and friends are requested to meet at the church by 1:45 pm and a reception will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

 In lieu of flowers please make donations to Habersham Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, 217 Scoggins Drive, Demorest, Georgia 30535.
