Mildred Frances Thrasher McCurley

Mrs. Mildred Frances Thrasher McCurley, age 95 of 261 Fairview Avenue, Hartwell passed away Friday December 12, 2014 at Stephens County Hospital.



A daughter of the late Isom and Monty Gordon Thrasher, she was born on February 11, 1919 in Franklin County, Georgia but lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was member of Tom's Creek Baptist Church, a very devoted Christian and a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray McCurley in 1968.



She is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Pat and George Westmoreland, Martha and Larry McFarlin, Gloria and Freddie Robinson all of Toccoa, two sons and daughters in law Gene and Wanda McCurley of Carnesville and Jerry and Kathryn McCurley of Toccoa, a step-daughter Bonnie and MD Carter of Scottsboro, Alabama, grandchildren Donald Westmoreland, Deborah and Eddie Smith, Scotty and Melissa Westmoreland, Heidi and Joey Rider, Heather and Lance Tyner, Chad and Christina McFarlin, Chip and Caroline McFarlin, Wendy Robinson and Kurt Robinson, eighteen great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.



Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 14 at 2 P.M. at Tom's Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Marcus and the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating with burial to follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Saturday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Acree-Davis Funeral Home.



The following grandchildren will serve as pallbearers Donald Westmoreland, Kurt Robinson, Scotty Westmoreland, Barrett Smith, Chad McFarlin, Joey Rider, Chip McFarlin and Clay Westmoreland.
