Elizabeth Waters Little

Elizabeth Waters Little, 91, of Gainesville, GA passed away Tuesday December 9, 2014 following an extended illness.

A lifetime resident of Hall County, she was born on April 15, 1923, the daughter of the late James Oscar and Lillie Lancaster Waters.

Mrs. Little retired from the Gainesville City School System after many years of serving lunches with a smile and calling the names of the children as they came through. After leaving there, she continued sharing her smile with the customers she served at the Winn-Dixie Deli until her retirement. Mrs. Little was a member of Corinth Baptist Church

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Little; son-in-law, Wesley Pitts; grandson, Todd McKenzie; sisters, Conell Reed, Henrietta Bennett; brothers, Edwin Waters and Turner Waters.

Mrs. Little is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Dr. Donald R. and Betty Little of Hartwell, GA, Charles R. and Rosemary Little of Lawrenceville; daughters, Carol McKenzie, Jane Pitts, E. Anita Little all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Terri and Chip Almand, Chris and Veronica McKenzie, Craig McKenzie, Cheryl and Donnie Jarrard, Ryan and Stefanie Pitts; great grandchildren, Brandon Jarrard, Evan Pitts, Eli Pitts, Ellis Pitts, Dylan Almand, Lauryn Almand, Philip McKenzie, Valerie McKenzie; sister, Jennie Mae Martin of Arcadia, FL; brothers and sisters in law, Julian and Loretta Waters of Winder, GA. Wade and Carolyn Waters of Talmo and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday December 12, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Henry Loggins and Rev. Donnie Jarrard will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of New Horizons Lanier Park and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for the loving care shown to Mrs. Little while in their care.
