Elmer C. Mutter

Obituary Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Elmer C. Mutter, 79, of Gainesville passed away on November, 5, 2014 following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. Reverend Bill Surrett will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Mutter was born on January 28, 1935 in Washington County, Virginia to the late Robert Lee and Sarah Ohma Short Mutter. He was retired form RWH Trucking where he worked as a mechanic and was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth New Mutter, daughters, Margarett Burnett, and Patricia Haynes.

Mr. Mutter was a loving father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors where he was an avid hunter and also loved talking about deer hunting and especially the one that got away.

Mr. Mutter is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Sally Ann and her husband William Fasulo of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law and Bobbie and Danny Jackson of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Gina Mutter of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law David Stephen Jennifer B. Mutter of Dacula; grandchildren, Stephanie O'Kelley, Christina Sims, Jessica McClure, Tommy Boling, Chad Beck, David Hayes, Hayden Mutter, Katie Mutter, Shane Mutter, Shannon Mutter, Angie Thomas, Daniel Thomas, and Chris Smith; two special great grandchildren, Chandler Freeman and Anthony Smallwood, and a number of other great grandchildren; brother, C.H. Mutter of Gainesville; very special friend, Lorraine Grogan of Gainesville.
