Mary Sue Burger

Mary Sue Burger, age 81 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Calvin Haney will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 3 - 5 p and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burger was born October 18, 1933 in Dawsonville, Georgia to the late H. V. Stephens and Donna Belle Stegall Stephens. She retired from Gainesville Milling Company with 57 years of service and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carl Burger.

Mrs. Burger is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Deborah & Huel Elliott of Gainesville, her sons, Douglas (Christine) Burger, Jr. of Lawrenceville and Daryl Burger of Raleigh, North Carolina, grandsons, Matthew (Pamela) Elliott of Gainesville, Ryan (Jessica) Pokorny of Lawrenceville, granddaughters, Melissa Elliott of Gainesville and Melinda Hart of Lawrenceville, great-grandchildren, Noah Elliott, Samuel Elliott, Travis Hart and Patrisha McCollum.
