Vergie Mae Palmer

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Vergie Mae Palmer age 87 of
Cleveland. Mrs. Palmer passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 21, 1014 in the funeral home chapel
with Rev. Dave Fortner and Rev. Tony Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Palmer Family Cemetery.

Vergie was born in White County on March 6, 1927 to the late Toy Autry and Clara Hulsey Autry.
She was employed with Talon for some twenty years, working there until it's closure. Later she was
employed with Clark-Scwebel until her retirement.

Vergie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother,
she always had a smile and brought joy to all who were blessed to know her. Vergie was known for her
cooking, her abilities to sew, crochet and make ceramics.

She was a longtime member of Mossy Creek
United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Eben Palmer, daughters, Wanda
Joy Palmer, and Sandra Crumley, sisters, France Meaders, Idell Dorsey and brothers, Robert Autry,
Benny Autry, Tug Autry and Jackie Autry.
Survivors include her sons, Joel Palmer (Pam) of Lilburn, Daniel Palmer (Malissa), Cleveland; daughters, Charlotte Palmer, Santa Barbara, CA., Linda Howell ( Keith) Cumming, Jennifer Allison (Stacy), Cleveland, Kimberly King( David), Cleveland; sisters, Polly Davis,Brenda Bulgin and Lola Shelnut all of Cleveland as well as her brother, Kenneth Autry also of Cleveland. Vergie is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 pm.
