Stan L. Turpin

Stan L. Turpin, age 78 of Tallulah Falls, Georgia passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, September 8, 2014.

Mr. Turpin was born on July 13, 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee; son of the late Hugh Merideth and Hazel Cross Turpin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Karen Thornburg Turpin and sister, Sharon Turpin Williams. Mr. Turpin was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired Sub-Station Construction Switchboard Foreman with Georgia Power Company with 33 years of service.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Doug Chirillo, Westminster, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Cecile Turpin, Perry, GA; sister, Debbie Edwards, Gainesville, GA; brothers, Kenneth Turpin, Hollywood, GA, Bruce Turpin, Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Bryan Chirillo and Alysa Chirillo.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.

A private family burial will be held.
