Bobby Ray Greer

Obituary Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2014
Bobby Ray Greer, age 72 of Auburn, passed away June 17, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel. Burial will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park, Norcross. Bobby was known for his million dollar smile, corny jokes and his chap stick. Entrepreneur of several businesses' ranging from restaurants, tire stores, to the Suwanee Boggin Hole, while always maintaining Greer Construction Company-Grading & Roofing. He served in the U.S. Army 1961-1963. He enjoyed watching all types of racing. He was one of the founding members of the Dixie Drifters Street Rod Car Club, serving as their President for the first two years. He raced his infamous GT-1 race car at the local dirt tracks with old Mountain Race Track in Cumming being his favorite. He was an avid fan of the NFL and the Georiga Bulldogs, cherishes his sports memorabilia ranging from Joe Montana to Bill Elliott. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he loved his Pastors and all his church family.

He is survived by his wife Diane Boles Greer, daughter and son--in-lawLisa and Emmett Couch of Cumming, granddaughters, Krystal Williams and her friend Nick West of Buford and Emily Couch of Cumming, brothers Jimmy Greer of Buford and Ricky Greer of Duluth, father-in-law Billy Boles of Duluth, sisters-in-law Beverly Cantwell and Sandra Lamar of Duluth, aunts Grace (Bob) Edminston-Bremen, Barnice Williamson of Newborn, Dorothy Greer of Norcross and uncle Shirley Martin of Bremen., several nieces, nephews, cousins, one great niece and one great great niece, estranged children: Randy, Barry, Kevin and Deidre Greer, granddaughter Tammie Everett, great grandchildren Alex and Savannah Everett.

Special thanks and love to the Gwinnett Surgical Associates staff. He loved you for the great care you gave to him and also special thanks and love to Dr. Charles Moomey and Tanaya Meaders, he cherished you both dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Melbarie Greer and his brother Gary Greer.
