Martha Lou Nimmons Davis

Mrs. Martha Lou Nimmons Davis, age 94, of Toccoa, GA, passed away Thursday June 12, 2014 at her son's home.



She was born in Franklin County, GA on June 19, 1920, the daughter of Robert Lee and Maude Frances Nimmons. She lived most of her life in Stephens County and was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church. She was a pre-school Sunday School teacher and worked in the Children's Department and also a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.



She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Davis in 1996, a grandson Timothy Dill and three sisters Myra Belle Coker, Grace Hambrick and Roberta Nimmons.



Martha is survived by her children, Royce (Linda) Davis of Toccoa and Sue Nell Dill of Toccoa, also three grandchildren Scott Edwin Davis, Dale Everett Dill, Craig Howard and eight great-grandchildren as well as a sister Betty Adams of Toccoa.



The funeral service will be held Saturday June 14, at 11 AM from the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Garrison and Reverend Henry Coker officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers, Craig Howard, Homer Coker, Clemmie Patrick, Jesse Dill, Henry Patrick and Ron Holland.



The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.



Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to the Hill Street Baptist Church Children's Ministry 151 Hill Street Toccoa, Georgia 30577.



Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Martha Lou Nimmons Davis.
