Christy Leigh Ward Atwell

Christy Leigh Ward Atwell, age 41, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

She was born in Atlanta, GA, and had been a resident of Lumpkin County for the past two years after moving here from Dawsonville, GA. She worked as a caretaker for Bright Star Home Health. She was a beautiful and loving wife and mother that will be missed very much.

Christy is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Steve Ward.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Atwell; mother, Delores Marlene Ward, Maysville, GA; son, Christopher Buice and daughter, Sara Pistol Buice, Dahlonega, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Deanne and Tommy Hitchcock, Dawsonville, GA; and sister, Amanda Ward, Canton, GA. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Christy are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA.

Pastor Steve Landers will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 6 PM until 9 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2014.
