Mrs. Helen Parks Russell, 77, of Jot'em Down Rd., Forsyth County Ga. passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Russell was retired from Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she worked as Assistant Director of Medical Records for 39 years. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. Helen was a care giver for her husband Joe when he became ill and cared for him with great compassion. She loved to travel and antique shop with him. Helen and Joe loved to share their travels and memorabilia with their community friends at their Annual Barn Gatherings on the farm. Helen was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her friends, but her real love was spending time with her family. Mrs. Russell was a member of Salem Baptist Church and attended Harmony Grove Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Russell and her parents, Lee and Callie Mae Parks.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Ginger and Randy Wagoner; son, Tyler Castleberry; grandson, Caleb Russell Wagoner; sister, Evelyn McGinnis; special nephews, Seth Castleberry and Stuart Castleberry; sister in law, Virginia Williams; niece, Janice Hughes.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Salem Baptist Church in Forsyth County. The Reverend Jeff Wilkie, Reverend Vernie Worley, and Reverend James "Bud" Sutton will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Gerald Blackburn officiating. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
