Joseph Vincent Alldred

Obituary Date: Friday, March 14, 2014
Joseph Vincent Alldred, 45, of Charlotte, NC passed away Friday March 14, 2014.

Joey was born June 18, 1968, the oldest of five sons to Jim and Ellen Alldred and was the first of the Alldred family born in Georgia. He was baptized at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marietta. In 1977 the family moved from Woodstock, GA to a small farm in Lumpkin County where he became a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Dahlonega, GA and later Christ Redeemer in Dawsonville. Although apprehensive about the move to the country, he quickly adjusted and attended school from elementary through high school in Dahlonega, GA. The circle of friends he made during his school years remain close to this day. He loved sports and excelled in baseball, wrestling, and football. Being 5' 8" and 145 lbs. was no drawback to Joey. He played the game of football with the heart, confidence, and fearlessness of a 230 lb. linebacker. Joseph earned a degree in psychology at the University of Georgia and worked while a student to offset his tuition and other fees. Just as in sports, he carried the same confidence into his professional career with Wachovia-Wells Fargo Corporate Headquarters in Charlotte. Joey's love of God was always part of his everyday life. Where there was a gathering of family, friends or just one other person, Joe was always asked to give the blessing before meals and he never forgot to thank his Lord and Savior for the many blessings already bestowed, and to ask his intervention into the lives of the suffering and less fortunate. Joseph will be remembered for his love of camping and fly fishing, the companionship and laughter with his many friends and family, and will always be known for his generosity to others without conditions. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen R. Alldred and a brother, Michael Alldred.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen "Kathy" Alldred and her three sons, Kyle, Ryan, and Matt, Charlotte; father, James "Jim" Alldred, Jr., Dawsonville, GA; brothers and sister in law, Brian Alldred, Dawsonville, Jamie and Cas Alldred, Dahlonega, Christopher Alldred, Charlotte; nieces, Savannah and Autumn Alldred, Dahlonega.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Ray Richardson will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, P. O. Box 31128, Charlotte, NC 28231. www.salvationarmycarolianas.org/bgccharlotte/homepage/
