Cleo Pitts Lathan

Mrs. Cleo Pitts Lathan, age 91 of 9 Deer Court Lane, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late Stonewall Jackson and Callie Moore Pitts, she was born September 29, 1922 in Louisville, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a homemaker and a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lathan in 1991 and by a son, Ernest Glenn Lathan.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie Sue and Robert Moore of Martin, Georgia, Shirley and Dale McCurry and Carolyn and Steve York both of Toccoa, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sharon Lathan of Barnesville, Georgia; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 6, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Dills officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Steve York, Dale McCurry, Roger York, Keith McCurry, Kevin McCurry and Coleman McCurry.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM until 8 PM and Thursday from noon until the service time.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Shadow of the Steeples, 2765 Old Historic Highway 441 North, Clarkesville, Georgia 30523 in memory of Mrs. Cleo Pitts Lathan.
