Archie Thomas Mulkey

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Archie Thomas Mulkey, age 95, of Jefferson, who passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Mr. Mulkey was born March 6, 1918 in Bremen, Georgia, a son to the late Elisha Samuel Mulkey and the late Attie Mae Smith Mulkey. Mr. Mulkey was a retired Brickmason and was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church. Mr. Mulkey was preceded in death by his by his first wife, Lurlene Johnson Mulkey, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Copeland Whatley Mulkey, Jefferson, Georgia, 3 step children, Michael Whatley, Jefferson, Georgia, Mary Whatley Maddox Couch, Hiawassee, Georgia, Brenda Whatley Coile, Homer, Georgia, sister-in-law, Evelyn Clelland Mulkey, Conyers, Georgia, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Evans Funeral home with Rev. Ralph Easterwood, Missionary Bob Johnson and Rev. Carey Pittman officiating. The burial will follow at 1:30pm in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia with Grandsons honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
