Gladys Luker Plunkett

Mrs. Gladys Luker Plunkett, age 85, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Hiram Plunkett; and parents, E.T. and Jennie Coker Luker.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Plunkett Byers and husband, Lowell Byers, Hoschton, GA, Charlie Plunkett, Clarkesville, GA, David and Joyce Plunkett, Ridgeland, WI and Barry Plunkett and wife, Lisa Hardy, Woodinville, WA; grandchildren, Harris and Rebecca Byers, Terry and Gwen Byers, Nathanael Plunkett, Nicholas Plunkett, Natalie and Brent Duckett, Sarah Plunkett, Caitlin Plunkett, Amanda Plunkett and Norma Plunkett; two great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James and Betty Luker; sister-in-law, Sue Plunkett Haney; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Plunkett was born June 8, 1928 in Mt. Willing, AL. She was a retired bank teller from Wachovia Bank and Buford Commercial Bank. She was a long-time member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Shari Rates officiating. Graveside service rerewill follow at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceville, GA 30043 with Rev. Calvin Haney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
