Harold Sims

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Harold Thomas Sims, age 87 of Cleveland. Mr. Sims passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, January 1, 2014.

Harold was born on June 18, 1926 to the late Homer Sims, and Bertha Bell Hogsed in Hiawassee, Georgia. Harold gained employment at General Motors after serving as a Paratrooper in World War II. During this time Harold met his loving wife Althea Jean Blalock. He would go on to retire from General Motors in the early 70s and begin working for White County Department of Transportation; Harold also worked for Walmart in his later years.

Mr. Sims is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bertha Bell Hogsed and Homer Sims; brother, Fain Sims; sisters, Catherine Crumley, Helen Fowler, Jessie Mauney, and Alice Barker.

Mr. Sims is survived by his wife Althea Jean Sims of Cleveland; sister, Louise Jones, of Griffin; sons and daughter in laws, Donald and Becky Sims, Clark and Lisa Rider; daughters and son in laws, Linda and Ron Dale, Pam and Kenneth Moss; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and all of his loving friends.
