Bruce Dixon

Bruce Dixon, 78, of White GA, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
Mr. Dixon was born October 10, 1935 in Helen, GA son of the late Benjamin Dixon and Laura Freeman Dixon.
Bruce was an avid collector of John Wayne memorabilia and loved to watch old country western movies, The Andy Griffith Show and the Golden Girls on television. He also loved to travel with his motor home across country and especially liked to camp at Mountain Lakes in Cleveland, GA. He was a Georgia Bulldogs fanatic and also a member of the Shriners Club.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Lee Dixon; and son, Jarvis Dixon.
Survivors include his three special friends, Debbie Ann, Juanita and Jessica Anderson; daughter and son-in-law, Shauna and Sam Shields of MO, son, Ernest Lee Dixon of ID; step daughter and step son-in-law, Sandy and Steve Harper of FL; grandchildren, Tony and April Shields, Sheena and Joe Conner, Eva and James Davis, Joshua Davis and Stevie Lee Dixon all of MO, Samantha Shields of NC and Chris and Jennifer Harper of UT; great grandchildren, Tony Shields, Jr., Jerry, Chris and Laura Ramos, Elizabeth Davis, Elizabeth Harper and Stevie Lee Dixon.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2013 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with full military honors with the Rev. Keith Willard officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions made to the Shriner's Club, 400 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE. Atlanta, GA 30308.
