Gertrude Remell Elliott

Gertrude Remell Elliott, 81, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Dewberry Baptist Church #1 with the Reverend Henry Loggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 6pm-9pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Elliott was born January 2, 1932 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late William and Willie Jones. She was a graduate of Clermont High School and grew up helping her parents on the farm. Her first job was with Barry Manufacturing Company, then after closing she was employed with Gainesville Manufacturing Company for several years. After that she was employed with Fieldale Farms. Trudy wanted to help other people so she became employed with Home Health Care. After retirement she enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #1 and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray Odus Elliott, her daughter, Cheryl Darlene Dyer and her brother, Tex Jones.

Mrs. Elliott is survived by her daughter, Brenda Henriksen of Cleveland, her daughter & son-in-law, Patricia & Larry Waldroop of Cumming, son & daughter-in-law, Billy R. & Pam Elliott of Gainesville, daughter, Linda Jenkins of Smyrna, sister, Mac Kelm of Abbott, Texas, sisters & brothers-in-law, Clara Nell & Willard Fuller of Murrayville, Thelma & James "Sonny" Helton of Clermont and Ruth & Lyman Martin of Gainesville, brother & sister-in-law, Thay & Janice Jones of Clermont, sister-in-law, Violet Jones of Gainesville, 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
