Evelyn Higgins Maddox

Evelyn Higgins Maddox, age 91 of Buford, GA died Sunday, October 6, 2013 after an extended illness.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens.

The Family will receive Friends Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the Family request donations be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 3390 South Puckett Road, Buford, GA 30519.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her Husband, Bonnie J. Maddox. Daughter, Rita Maddox Bennett. Grandson, Donnie Bennett. Great Grandson, Adam Smith.

Surviving are Children, Ray and Cheryl Maddox, Hoschton, Sandra and Harry Wilson, Buford, Nancy and Stanley Pugh, Buford, Carey and Nell Maddox, Jefferson, Ted and Janice Maddox, Winder, Mickey and Karen Maddox, Buford, Jeff (Bo) and Becky Maddox, Flowery Branch. Son In-law, Billy Bennett, Buford. Sisters In-law, Julia Higgins, Buford and Polly Moore, Buford. Brother In-law, Doug Allen, Cleveland. 20 Grandchildren. 34 Great Grandchildren. 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Evelyn was the last surviving child of Lloyd and Mozelle Higgins.

She was a lifelong resident of Buford and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught children's Sunday School. She was known by her Family and their Friends for her homemade biscuits, fried pies and sweet tea.
