James 'Jim' Bennett Hoyle

Memorial services for James "Jim" Bennett Hoyle, age 88, of Clarkesville, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel with William "Billy" Hornsby officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

Mr. Hoyle died Friday, July 19, 2013 following a long illness.

Born on February 2, 1925, Mr. Hoyle was the son of the late Irvin and Emma Hoyle. Mr. Hoyle was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II.

He was retired financial counselor and family relationship counselor with Free In Jesus, a faith based ministry.

Mr. Hoyle graduated from both Jackson Commercial College and Mississippi State College with a degree in business administration. He held management positions with Park Avenue Baptist Church, Coronet Food Services, the City of Morganton, North Carolina, and Morganton Hosiery Mills. Mr. Hoyle was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville and had served as a Chaplain for the Habersham Medical Center. Mr. Hoyle was previously a Sunday School teacher and held group Bible studies in his home.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hoyle was preceded in death by brothers Graham Hoyle, William Hoyle, Carroll Hoyle, and Irvin P. Hoyle, Jr, sister Helen Edison as well as step-son, Craig Holder.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Hoyle, of the home, daughters, Judith Booth of Roanoke, Virginia, and Carol Ellis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, son William Estes of Flora, Mississippi, step-sons Jay Holder of Titusville, Florida, and Eric Holder of Westminster, South Carolina, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
