Virginia Sutton Trotter

Virginia Sutton Trotter, age 93, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at a local care facility.



Ms. Trotter was born on March 7, 1920, in Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia; daughter of the late John L. and Jennie Elder Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Sutton, Bernice Warren, and Lorene Martin and brothers, J.L., Bobby, and Earl Sutton. Ms. Trotter was a retired cosmetologist with 45 years of service. She was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church.



Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and John Ayer, Waynesville, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Donna Trotter, Cornelia, GA and Wayne and Barbara Trotter, Carlton, GA; son, Gerald Trotter, Ringgold, GA; sister, Minnie Waldrip, Sautee-Nacoochee, GA; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. David Turner and Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
