Robert "Bob" Garbaccio

Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Garbaccio, age 83, of Mt. Airy, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 27, 2013 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wesley Purcell officiating. Interment will follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Georgia Military Honors Funeral Team.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Garbaccio died Saturday, May 25, 2013 following a brief illness.

Born on August 21, 1929, Mr. Garbaccio was the son of the late Livy and Helen Garbaccio of New Jersey. Mr. Garbaccio was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. He lived 35 years of his life in Habersham County. Mr. Garbaccio was a retired farmer, real estate salesman and he once owned a service station. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Moose Lodge, VFW, and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, Mr. Garbaccio is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Euline Hunsucker Garbaccio and grandson Daniel Nicholson.

Survivors include his sons and daughters in law Danny and Maxine Nicholson of Clarkesville and David and Dawn Nicholson of Cumming, Georgia, friend Jane Boyter of Melbourne, Florida, sister Doris Fairclough of Pinehurst, North Carolina, nephew Billy Fairclough and wife Sylvia of Tuxedo Park, New York, great niece Morgan Fairclough, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
