Fredrick Vinson Lovejoy

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Fredrick Vinson Lovejoy, 57, of Gainesville Ga., who passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013.

Mr. Lovejoy was born in Lilburn, West Virginia, a son of the late Thomas Eugene Lovejoy and Mrs. Rosetta Spears Lovejoy of Ranger, West Virginia. Mr. Lovejoy worked as a carpenter with Bill Harris Construction Company for many years. Mr. Lovejoy attended Revival Baptist Church in Pendergrass, Georgia and previously at Pinegrove Methodist Church in Midkiff, West Virginia.

In addition to his father, Mr. Lovejoy was preceded in death by his Brothers, Tommy Lovejoy, Larry Lovejoy and Ira Shannon Lovejoy, and Sister Sheila Lovejoy, and Nephew, Michael Harris.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Arlene Scragg Lovejoy, Sons -Steven, Jason, and Brandon Lovejoy, Daughter in Laws- Jennifer Lovejoy, Terri Lovejoy and Rosa Lovejoy, Mother In Law- Madeline Wellman, Midkiff, West Virginia, Mother- Rosetta Lovejoy, Ranger, West Virginia, Sisters- Joyce Simpkins, Victoria Horn, Brothers- Terry Lovejoy, Charles Lovejoy, Bruce Lovejoy, and Virgil Lovejoy. Grandchildren, Hunter, Rhiannon, Brandon Jr, Cheyenne, Adelyn Lovejoy, Hannah LaValley, Taylor and Kyle Freeman. and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be Saturday April 20, 2013 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home Chapel, 6670 McClellan Street, West Hamlin, West Virginia 25571 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Donald Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow at Wellman-Bellomy Cemetary on Nine Mile Road. The family will receive friends on Friday April 19, 2013 from 6-9 at the McGhee-Handley Funeral Home.
