Allen M. Moore

Mr. Allen M. Moore, age 88, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bascum and Alma Moore; and sister, Lillith McDowell. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Inez Kilgore Moore, Suwanee, GA; daughter, Rhonda Moore-Reque, Suwanee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Allen W. and Susan Moore, Marietta, GA; five grandchildren, Veronica and Kelly Hoban, Hayden Moore, Chloe Moore, Kaylin Reque and Jarrod Reque; two great grandchildren, Lily Hoban and Haven Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Moore was born April 14, 1924 in Flat Rock, AL. He was a World War II Army veteran having served from 1943 to 1946 as First Sergeant and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and six other major battles. Mr. Moore received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, EAME Theatre Ribbon and three Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Liberation Unit for Buchenwald Concentration Camp. He was retired from Georgia Pacific after forty-two years of service and was a member of AFLCIO Teamsters Union Local 527-S.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with Rev. Luke Morgan officiating and with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
