Charlene Jones Jenkins

Charlene Jones Jenkins, 77, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away peacefully on January 24, 2013.

Charlene was born November 3, 1935 in Robbinsville, North Carolina. She moved to Clarkesville, Georgia where she resided for over fifty years. Charlene was a graduate of Piedmont College where she received her Bachelor of Arts, as well as her Masters in Business Administration. She was the office manager for Piedmont Automotive for many years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Houston L. Jenkins, her mother Lois Jones, and her father and step-mother Charlie and Julia Jones.

She leaves behind many people who hold her in their hearts. Her older son, Mark and his wife Denise three granddaughters, Brooke, Lindsey, and Caroline Jenkins of Argyle, Texas, Her younger son Joel and his wife Ingrid, and granddaughter Katarina Jenkins and Chloe and husband Nathaniel Giancola of Athens, Georgia, her sister Martha Holcomb, of Clarkesville, Georgia, her sister Rosemary and husband David Zimmerman, Fayetteville, N. C., half brother Chip Jones of Hendersonville, N.C., half sister Sharon Carlyle and husband Ed of East Flat Rock, N.C., half sister Larrie Jones Hartley of Raleigh, N.C., seven nephews Mike, Bron, Greg, Chris, Cam, Andy, Trae, and two nieces Ann and Brianna; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM from the Antioch Baptist Church, 2175 Antioch Church Road, Mt. Airy, GA 30563, Pastor Brian Stephens will officiate with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
