Monda Lou Baker

Obituary Date: Wednesday, December 12, 2012
Monda Lou Baker, 80, died peacefully on Wednesday December 12, 2012 at her home in Cleveland, Georgia, after a brief struggle with lung cancer. Monda was born April 17, 1932 in Lula, Georgia, the daughter of the late Frank Sydney Parker and Delzia E. Hulsey.


After graduating from Clermont High School she moved to Atlanta and enrolled in the nursing program at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital. She graduated in 1953 and joined the Seaboard Air Line Railroad working as a Registered Nurse. In 1958 she married Harry Paul Baker and settled in Miami, Florida where she raised four children.


In 1980 Monda returned to Georgia and made a home in Cleveland. She worked at Lanier Park Hospital as a registered nurse for 15 years and retired in 1995. Monda enjoyed her garden; she was an avid golfer, and always a loving mother.

Monda is survived by her sons, Milton Paul and his wife, Crystal, Victor David and Vincent James; daughter, Monda Lorraine Ernst and her husband, Jerry. grandchildren, Cameron Karnes and Brooks Lang-Baker; sister, Ruth Oliver of Cleveland.


No services will be held but a Gathering of family and friends will be held at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Monday December 17, 2012 from 4-8 p.m.


In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road Suite 114, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 in memory of Mrs. Baker.
