Edna Mae Merck

Edna Mae Merck, age 83, of Dawsonville, GA (Lumpkin County) died peacefully on Tuesday, December, 12, 2012 with her children at her side.

Ms. Merck was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was a member of the Auraria Church of the Almighty God in Lumpkin County and also attended Zion Hill Baptist Church in Forsyth County. She was a homemaker and avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children Marcus Merck; mother, Nell Black Adams; brothers, John Henry and Buck Black; sisters, Vernell Black and Claudean Adams.

She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, James and Mylinda Merck, Cumming, GA, Freddie Merck, Murrayville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Delores "Bebe" and Van Jones, Judy Christiansen, Robbie and Ronald Gentry, all of Dawsonville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and LaRue Adams, Dawsonville, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Lance, Dahlonega, GA, Ruby and George McKinzey, Murrayville, GA; Bessie English, Dawsonville, GA. 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Pastor Corey Ray and Pastor Gary Coffey will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Thursday from 6 PM until 9 PM, Friday 10 AM until 9 PM, and Saturday 10 AM until 1 PM.
