James Marvin Moore

James Marvin Moore, age 89 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Stephens County, on October 05, 1923, Mr. Moore was a son of the late Lee and Annie Carpenter Moore. He was married to the late Zora Mae Cragg Moore for 57 years. Mr. Moore was the owner and operator of B&C Cleaners for 32 years. He was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed cattle farming and flying.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Moore was also preceded in death by brothers, Coy and Ferd Moore; sister, Clara Lee Cheek.
Survivors include daughter, Grace Moore of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Jennifer Moore of Mt. Airy; sister, Jo Ann Tatum of Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Edna & Edward Whitworth of Toccoa; brother and sister-in-law, Randall And Jeanette Moore of Toccoa, Jerry and Linda Moore of Toccoa; sisters-in-law, Magdalene McConnell of Mt. Airy; brother-in-law and spouse, Andrew and Geraldine Cragg of Starke, FL; grandchildren, Kevin Kochis and Skye Moore; great grandchildren, Madison Kochis, Ashlyn VanNorstran and Briana VanNorstran.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burrell, Rev. Hal Cason and Rev. John Mark Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 & 6-8 pm on Saturday.
