Jeffrey Dallas Gay Jr.

Obituary Date: Friday, October 19, 2012
Family and friends said goodbye to Jeffrey Dallas Gay Jr. Friday, October 19, 2012. Jeffrey would have been 22 on November 19.

Jeffrey's precious, infectious smile touched people everywhere he went. Jeffrey was the one person that everyone truly loved. He had a heart of gold and would have done anything for anyone. His humor, love, and sincere compassion had an unexplainable power to light up any room. He brought pure joy to the countless people that called him a friend. Constantly surrounded by family and friends, he was always smiling, joking, and laughing. Everywhere he turned, there was someone who loved him dearly and he was the kind of person that when he gave you one of his hugs, he was always the last to let go. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten. He knew hundreds of friends, but not one enemy. He left our world better than he found it.

Of the many things he loved, being with his family and friends ranked at the top. He was a lover of outdoors and of fishing, hunting and nature. Jeffrey became a Christian on September 29, 2007 and loved his association with Young Life and FCA.

At Lakeview Academy, Jeffrey played basketball and golf and was involved in Young Life and FCA. He was also involved in summer earth studies.

His parents, Jeff and Cindy Gay, brother Chris Gay, paternal grandparents Dallas and Bobbie Gay, great grandmother Vivian Gay, survive Jeffrey. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Alton and Jean Scott and is predeceased by Connie Scott. He is survived by aunts and uncles Tommy and Dana Gay and Tony and Christie Scott. He also leaves behind loving cousins, Molly, Katie, and Thomas Gay and Whitney and Anthony Scott.

The family will greet Jeffrey's friends Saturday, October 20 from 5-8pm at Mason Ward Funeral Home, 1190 McEver Rd. A celebration of Jeffrey's life will be Sunday, October 21 at 2pm at Gainesville First United Methodist Church, officiated by Dr David White and Dr. Steve Winter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to Gainesville Hall County Young Life and Gainesville First United Methodist Church, Children and Youth First Campaign.
