James Robert Hoopaugh, Sr.

Mr. James Robert Hoopaugh, Sr., age 75, of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Homer, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 09, 2012 at St Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky following a extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend James Campbell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


Mr. Hoopaugh was born on July 31, 1937 in Jefferson, Georgia to the late John Joe Hoopaugh and Addie Mae Herrington Hoopaugh. He was retired from Gold Kist as a Trick Driver and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sandra Hankins.


Mr. Hoopaugh is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Wanda & Don Graessle of Lexington, KY, daughter, Sandra Hoopaugh of Baldwin, son & daughter-in-law, James R. Jr. & Miki Hoopaugh of Jefferson, sister, Mae Norris of Oakwood, brothers, John Jr. Hoopaugh of Pendergrass, Myron Hoopaugh of Auburn, Georgia and Billy Hoopaugh of Murrayville, grandsons, Bryan Wytiaz of Lexington, KY and Andrew Payne of Baldwin, KY, grandsons & their wives, Craig & Joanna Wytiaz of Sumter, SC and Russell & Tiffany Cantrell of Manhattan, KS, granddaughter, Daneka Hoopaugh of Gainesville, 5 great-grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters and also a number of nieces and nephews.
