Martha Hewlette Moseley

Mrs. Martha Hewlette Moseley, age 90, of Dawsonville, GA, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at The Bridge in Lawrenceville, GA.

Mrs. Moseley was born in LaGuardo, TN June 4, 1922. She had lived in Lumpkin County since 2001 and was a former longtime resident of Decatur, GA. She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church. She had a 30 year teaching career and retired from the Dekalb County Board of Education.

Martha was the daughter of the late Lee Burton and Lillie Prowell Burton and was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Gwen Moseley; sisters, Lillian Turner, Rilla Reeves, and brother, Willie B. Burton.

She is survived by her son, Bob Moseley, Tucker, GA; daughters and sons-in-law; Julia and Nubbin Garner, Dawsonville; Candy and Bill Evans, Lawrenceville; Lisa and Billy Walker, Lawrenceville; sister, Jessie Wingfield, Trion, GA; grandchildren, Mary and Clay Moseley, Henry and Ben Garner, Annabeth Evans, Caroline and Jillian Walker.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moseley are scheduled for 11 AM Friday, July 6, 2012, at Dahlonega Baptist Church.

Mrs. Moseley will lie in state at the church from 10:30 AM until 11 AM on Friday.

Rev. Bill Hutcheson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 6 PM until 8 PM.
