Hazel Crane Gafnea

Obituary Date: Wednesday, May 16, 2012
Hazel Crane Gafnea, 97, of Gainesville, Ga., formerly of Atlanta, Ga., passed away May 16, 2012.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, 12 noon, May 19, 2012 at Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta, Ga. And a memorial service on Sunday, 3:00 P.M., May 20, 2012, at Gainesville First United Methodist Church, 2780 Thompson Bridge Rd., Gainesville, Ga. Visitation will be held on Friday May 18, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel, 989 Riverside Dr., N.E. Gainesville, Ga.

Hazel Gafnea was formerly employed by Goodrich Tire Company, Newberry Wrecker Service and had a civil service job for the government. She was treasurer of Underwood Memorial United Methodist Church for many years, volunteered as a poll manager for her voting precinct for years, took loving care of many relatives and friends over the years, and raised a much-appreciative daughter. She led a long, rich life and will be missed by many. What a blessing to know she is in the loving arms of our Lord now.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-love Elizabeth and Ed Mullins, grandson Michael Mullins, step-grandchildren Jimmy Mullins, Andy Mullins and his family and Melissa Mullins Moyers and her family. She is also survived by sister, Audrey Brooks Robinowich, 9 nieces and nephews and their families, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eugene Gafnea, brother, Howard Crane, sisters, Fay Crane and Rue Crane Shafer, parents, R.H. Crane and Emma Hayes Crane.
