Brenda Gail Porterfield

MS. BRENDA GAIL HAMILTON PORTERFIELD, age 64 of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 05, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia on May 26, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Bud and Vera Mae York Hamilton. Ms. Porterfield was a homemaker and also worked for many years with Fieldale Farms. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. Ms. Porterfield attended Amy's Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Mae Hamilton Mulchi and Patsy Jean Hamilton.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marindy Garrett and Chris Ferguson, Demorest, GA; daughter, Vera Larue Bugulrow, Toccoa, GA; brothers, Leroy Hamilton, Mt. Airy, GA; Larry William "Sonny" Hamilton, Ronald Alexander "Runt" Hamilton, both of Demorest, GA; Clyde Hamilton, Jerry Lee Hamilton, James Hamilton, all of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Denise Wade, Dustin Garrett, Logan Ferguson, Mae Porterfield, Cheyanna Ferguson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at the Amy's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Trotter, Rev. Anthony Shore, and the Rev. Alvin Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday.
