William Alfred "Pop" Waycaster

William Alfred "Pop" Waycaster, age 88, of Baldwin, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the residence following an extended illness.


Mr. Waycaster was born in Buford, Georgia on October 24, 1923, to the late Luke Ervin and Ollie Cofer Waycaster. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Mary Charlotte Ramey, son, Timothy Waycaster, twin brother, Albert Waycaster and brother, Lewis Waycaster. Mr. Waycaster was a general home repairman and a former saw miller. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Full Gospel Church and was associated with World Wide Christian Fellowship Association.


Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, William Ricky and Tina Waycaster, Baldwin, GA, and Reggie Lee Waycaster and Vicki Barron, Seneca, SC; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Waycaster was the last of his immediate family.


Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. John C. Waters and Rev. Janice Sudderth officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
