Lewis Grogan

Lewis Grogan, 77, of Cumming passed away Thursday October 13, 2011 at Friendship Healthcare Center following a period of declining health.

Born December 1, 1933 in Hall County to the late Earl and Aline Grogan, he lived most of his life in Forsyth County. Mr. Grogan's parents died at an early age and he was raised by his aunt, Pearl Lollis. He was a truck driver for Con Agra and Marjac for 45 years after which he was employed 12 years at Otwell Middle School. Lewis was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and was a Deacon at Mayfield Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Grace Chambers and Annie Bell Grogan.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty Grogan, Cumming; children, Mary and Buddy Hembree, Cumming, Ann and Joey Mullinax, Dawsonville, Sandra and David Perkins, Dawsonville, David and Amber Grogan, Cleveland, Tammy and Wendell Densmore, Cumming; sisters and brother in law, Eveline Hinson, Kannapolis, NC, Imogene and Donald Bruce, Dawsonville; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday October 16, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leonard W. Ridings and Rev. Ruel Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 and all day Saturday until 9 at the funeral home.
