Billy F. Hardy

Billy F. Hardy, 70, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday September 8, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born October 30, 1940 in Jackson County to the late Ralph and Willie Mae Hardy, he had lived in Dawson County for 30 years having moved from Commerce. Mr. Hardy was employed by the Forsyth County Government for 16 years and after his retirement he worked for Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Murrayville Holiness Church and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Siera Hardy, and son in law, William Swofford.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Gladys Hardy, Dawsonville; children, Keith Hardy, Dawsonville, Troy Hardy, Dawsonville, Stacy Swofford, Dawsonville, Jacob Hardy, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Betty and Boyd Turner, Athens, Mary Jane and Bill Drake, Danielsville; brothers and sister in law, R. T. and Beverly Hardy, Comer, Aaron Hardy, Commerce; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday September 11, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kathy Loggins, Rev. Bob Garrett and Rev. Ricky Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday at the funeral home.
