Stuart S. Huseby

Obituary Date: Monday, August 22, 2011
STUART S. HUSEBY, RDR, from Mt. Pleasant, SC, entered the kingdom of God, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, August 19, 2011 after a sudden illness. Stuart is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Huseby (formally of Gainesville), and his loving family, sons Scott A. Huseby, and his wife, Joye Huseby and their sons, Kody, Chase and Scott , Jr. Mooresville, NC; Steve S. Huseby, and his wife Slone, and their children, Sydney and Evan, Roswell, GA; one step-daughter Kim Colluro, and her husband Marc, and their children, Kieran and Connor, Braselton, GA; two brothers Tom Huseby, Sarasota, FL; Sydney Huseby, Great Falls, MT, one sister Jennifer Hamm, Columbus, OH.

Stuart was born on January 11, 1940 in Fergus Falls, MN. His love and devotion to his wife, family and friends stand out as his greatest personal trait and achievement. Stuart was loved by many people, as he had a great charming personality, and was never short on humor.

Stuart attended George Washington University in Georgetown, DC, where he played basketball. Stuart was a great basketball player and played on a lawyers' league that played in the GA Tech dome.

Stuart was always a man of adventure, starting his career as a lumberjack in Alaska, and having the courage to start his own business. He enjoyed taking golf trips to Ireland and Scotland, traveling with his sons and grandsons to exotic places such as Brazil and Germany to provide support for Ironman competitions.

He then went on to Court Reporting School and became a certified reporter.

Stuart lived in Atlanta, GA for 36+ years, where he owned and operated Huseby & Associates, a court reporting and litigation Support Company. Stuart obtained the highest of honors in his profession as a Certified Diplomat Reporter. He was also a Registered Professional Reporter and a Georgia Certified Reporter. He was very active in the court reporting community. He reported numerous infamous trials, including the Jim Baker PTL trial in Charlotte, NC. Stuart continued to have a hand in the business, acting as a Senior Consultant.

Stuart was born into a life of public service in the court systems, from his mother Genevive Palson Huseby, who graduated from court reporting school in June of 1928, to his uncle Orin Paulson, to his brother Syd, and now his sons Scott and Steve. He held his positions as a court stenographer with dignity and honor and taught
his brother and sons the same. He spent tireless hours in courtrooms around the country reporting on some of the highest profile trials and depositions of his era. Upon his retirement from Huseby, Inc., his sons and daughters-in-laws have turned the operation into a multi-state national operation, which made him very proud. Stuart always said:
"We cover the South like dew"

Stuart's greatest joy was his family, business, golf, traveling and his dog Daisy.

Services will be held at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 4814 Paper Mill Rd., Marietta, GA 30067, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Stuart's name to All Saints Lutheran Church, 2407 Hwy. 17, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466, where he was an active member.
