Sarah Marie Nix Thomas

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Sarah Marie Nix Thomas, age 78, of Pendergrass, who passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011. Mrs. Thomas was born in Gainesville, GA, a daughter to the late Andrew Jackson Nix and the late Luna Owens Nix. Mrs. Thomas was retired from USF Gypsum, where she was an office manager, and was a member of the Mt. Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Maurice Rogers and Fred Thomas, her daughter, Vicki Clark and brothers, H.A. and Loy Nix.

Survivors include daughter, Donna Sue Pendley, Atlanta, son, Butch Rogers, Kingston, GA, grandchildren, Faye Hayes, Paul Pendley, brothers, Phillip Nix and Wayne Nix both of Gainesville, great grandchildren, Sydney and Ashley Hayes.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Graham officiating. The burial will follow in the Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday, from 12noon until 2pm, prior to the service in the funeral home.
