James C. 'Tab' Hawes, Sr.

Homegoing Celebration for Mr. James C. "Tab" Hawes, Sr. age 76 of Gainesville, Ga. will be held Friday, July 8, 2011 , 2:00pm at Heart Outreach Ministries , 177 Atlanta Highway.

Mr. Hawes died Monday, July 4.

Bishop N.S. Montgomery, Pastor, Rev. Robert Scott, Eulogist.

Remains will be placed in state at 12:00 p.m.

Interment Calvary Garden Cemetery.

Visitation Thursday, July 7, 2011, 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends at the funeral home from 7:00-8:00.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ms. Fannie Boyd and Charlie Walker Hawes, and sister, Franes Mickens.

He is survived by three sons; James (Jennifer) Hawes and Gregory Kent Hawes, both of Gainesville, and, Rico (Tira) McNeal, Connecticut, Ohio. Stepmother, I.D. Lilly Hawes-Rice, Hartwell; sisters, Doris Cade, Braselton; Alberta Butts, Gainesville; Shirley(Bobby) Williams, Decatur; Geneva Partlow, Hartwell; Gwendolyn (Phil) Harrington, Lithonia. Brothers: Joe (Barbara)Tate, Lithonia; Norris(Carol) Tate, Covington; and Dennis Hawes, Marietta. Five grandchildren: Squanka Elberhart, Tararvess Ware, Rico Hawes, Justin Hawes and Kendra Hawes. Great-grandchildren. Goddaughter Glenda Hester, nieces, nephews other relatives, special friends, Helen Hawes Thomas and Louis Hodges.

Family and friends are asked to assemble at 2832 Gaines Mill Road at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
