Larry E. Winkler

Mr. Larry E. Winkler, age 64, of Cumming, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Sergeant with the Dekalb County Police Department retiring after 30 years of service. Larry was very close to his grandchildren who called him "Poppy". He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Winkler; parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Winkler, Sr. and his brother, Joe Winkler, Jr.

Survivors include wife, Ann Winkler of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Perry Pennington of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tom Poole of Alto; grandchildren, Isabelle and Reagan Pennington; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Cumming with Rev. Terry Kilgore officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 p.m.
