Marthie Bell Pressley

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Marthie Bell Pressley, age 87, of Buckhead, GA, who passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011.

Mrs. Pressley was born in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Clarence and Lizzy Worley Hix. Mrs. Presley was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith. Her husband, Howell Pressley, daughter, Barbara Nash and 7 grandchildren, preceded her in death.

Survivors include children, Linda Shelton, Madison, Sybil Simpson, Gainesville, Virginia Simpson, Commerce, Gene Pressley, Gainesville, Jo Gibbs, Pendergrass, Melvin Pressley and Glenn Pressley, both of Eatonton, Beckie McDaniel and Jackie McDaniel, both of Morgan County, Sue Wilson, Buckhead, Rosie McDaniel, Morgan County, sisters, Mattie Pressley,Hall County, Elizabeth Beardon, Cherokee County, 36 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Gaddis and Rev. Bill Holt officiating. The burial will follow in the Revival Baptist Church Cemetery with James McDaniel, Melvin Pressley Jr., Donald McDaniel, David McDaniel, Edward McDaniel, Adam McDaniel, Lewis McDaniel and Lonnie McDaniel Jr., honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday evening from 4-9pm at Evans Funeral Home.
