Katie Lee Helton

Katie Lee Helton, age 82, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Born November 12, 1928 to the late Matthew and Effie Strickland, she lived all her life in Forsyth County. Mrs. Helton was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to sew and enjoyed having a large doll collection. She was preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Helton, 2 brothers, Carl and Candler Strickland; 4 sisters, Vinny Fagan, Idean Baker, Nancy Phillips and Louise Bettis.

Survivors include her brother-in-law, Everett Bettis of Cumming; sister-in-law, Lucille Helton of Alpharetta; niece, Joy Bettis of Dahlonega; nephews, James and Myrtice Strickland of Ball Ground, George and Judy Strickland of Pahrump, NV, Dexter Strickland of Cumming, Gary and Brenda Helton of Alpharetta.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 pm at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Barber and Rev. Tommy Lockhart officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until hour of service.
