Wontai Kim

Wontai Kim, 58, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Sunday May 15th, 2011 at Emory University Hospital Atlanta.

Wontai was born in Taiwan and spend some of his childhood in Korea. He met his wife, Shufun while pursuing his MBA. They got married. After he finished his MBA, he was transferred to Hong Kong for work. He and Shufun had a daughter, Grace, in 1986. He started his own business later on with Shufun in textile sales. He worked very hard to provide for his family. Wontai moved to Alpharetta, GA in 1998 with his wife and daughter to be with his older brother and family. He retired 3 years ago after being diagnosed with heart failure. However, he become more active in our church, ACCCN. He taught Sunday school, sang on the praise team and was in several fellowships. On his spare time, he would read the Bible and he memorized most of it. He also enjoyed spending time with his daughter and wife. They go on vacations together every year to different places and all over the world.

The Lord took him away while he was lying in bed and Shufun was reading the Bible to him: Jeremiah 17:7-8.

7 "But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,whose confidence is in him.

8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.

He went very peacefully. Wontai was loved very much by his family and friends.

His Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at the ACCCN Atlanta Chinese Christian Church-North, 5055 Morton Road, Johns Creek, Georgia 30022 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Saturday May 21str, 2011 from the hours of 1-3pm. Interment to follow at Sawnee View Gardens Cemetery, Cumming, Georgia.
