Mary Jane Smith Sheridan

Obituary Date: Thursday, March 24, 2011
Mary Jane Smith Sheridan, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip L. Sheridan, Sr. Surviving are her son, Phillip L. Sheridan, Jr. and wife, Rhonda Lang, of Cumming; step-grandson, Nathan Lang, of Cumming; daughter, Kathleen Nichols and husband, Errol, of Conyers; granddaughters Helen Leora and Mary Alice Nichols of Conyers; brother, Joseph W. Smith, Jr. and wife, Joan, of Vero Beach, Florida; niece, Lee Ann Early of Norcross as well as other nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was a retiree of Sawnee EMC and a member and former choir director of Cumming First United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player, knitter and enjoyed volunteering at Northside Forsyth Hospital. She was a founding member of PEO Chapter AB in Cumming.



A memorial service will be held at Cumming First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 26th at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Cromartie and Rev. Bob Bowling officiating. Her family will receive friends on Friday, March 25th from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming.



In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the PEO Foundation, Cottey College Scholarship Fund, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, 50312.



The Sheridan family would like to thank DaVita Dialysis Center, Laurel Creek Manor, Northside Forsyth Hospital, Embracing Hospice and our special friend Daisy Heard for their loving care.
