Henry Allen Kitchens

Mr. Henry Allen Kitchens, 89 of Gainesville died Monday November 29, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Kitchens was the son of the late Carl and Dora Roark Kitchens. He was retired from New Holland Mill and served with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Kitchens was a member and deacon at the Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; Mary B. Kitchens, Gainesville; daughter, Barbara Roach, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law; Glenn and Brenda Kitchens, Christiansburg, Virginia; brothers, Carl Kitchens, Cleveland, Ga., Dean Kitchens, Athens, Ga., sister, Louise Gossett, Athens, Ga., four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 1, 2010 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mike Taylor and the Rev. J.L. Yopp will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday November 30, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family has asked that the deacons of Westside Baptist Church serve as honorary pallbearers and to assemble at the funeral home by 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Flowers will be accepted but those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
