Roy Padgett

Roy Padgett, 70, of Dawsonville died Monday October 18, 2010 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born May 29, 1940 to the late Roy Vernie and Bessie Padgett, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Mr. Padgett owned and operated R. P. Trucking, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a loving husband and father. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Padgett; sister, Evelyn McIntire; and son in law, Avery Godfrey.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Padgett, Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, Becky and Gene Ray, Ellijay; brother and sister in law, Cecil and Felecia Padgett, Dawsonville; grandson, Justin Godfrey, Ellijay; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 11 o'clock at Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Dean Pugh will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday at the funeral home.
