Rachel Pierce Rider

Rachel Pierce Rider, age 70, of Cantrell Road, Flowery Branch, GA passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 4:00 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend John Wood will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rider was born on June 29, 1940 to Nellie Gravitt in Lumpkin County. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Rider is preceded in death by her brother, Billy Pierce, sister, Jessie McFalls, daughter, Shirley Gazaway, and granddaughter, Chastity May.

Mrs. Rider is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Michael Lance of Lula, daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Johnny Healen of Flowery Branch, son, Roger Rider of Gainesville, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Lou Greenway of Gainesville, brother, Richard Greenway of Gainesville, and a host of nieces and nephews.
